My friend Darby is the one who suggested I try OnSpeedDating. I was like, you'd have to be "on speed" to be desperate enough to speed date but when she explained to me that www.OnSpeedDating.com was a new breed of speed dating where the events are geared more towards interests, backgrounds and preferences and that they put on events like "Date a NYC Fireman", "Date a Democrat", and "Dating for tall singles", I was totally sold. And then when I found out it was only $25.00 I found myself registering on the site for the event taking place that night. Being a former D1 college volleyball athlete, how convenient that they would be hosting a speed date an NYC volleyball player night! It seriously must have been fate.
Long story short, six drinks, twenty five guys and 3 hours later I ended up having an amazing time. I met 25 guys, all volleyball players, the majority of them were tall! ( : It was really cool. I left with lots of numbers, 3 potentials and 5 potential subs for my Urban volleyball team. The host of the event was super cool, not to mention cute and apparently single as I got his digits before I left too. it was a really great time and really quality people.
